Why goat milk is healthier than cow milk

Dairy is composed of a mixture of proteins, fats and carbohydrates and it does have a pretty good profile of available nutrients in its raw state, thus the handling of milk becomes key to how our bodies digest it. The fermentation of milk also helps our bodies to digest it, as the lactose is separated with the whey, meaning that cheese, yogurt and kefir are better options than store bought milk.

Goat’s milk has a greater amount of essential fatty acids such as linoleic and arachidonic acid than cow’s milk as well as significantly greater amounts of vitamin B-6, vitamin A, and niacin. Goat’s milk is also a far superior source of the vitally important nutrient potassium which causes goat’s milk to react in an alkaline way within the body whereas cow’s milk is lacking in potassium means that it becomes very acidic in the body.

The allergic reaction suffered by so many can be blamed on a protein allergen known as Alpha s1 Casein found in high levels in cow’s milk. The levels of Alpha s1 Casein in goat’s milk are about 89% less than cow’s milk providing a far less allergenic food. Goat’s milk has larger fat globules meaning that during digestion, each fat globule and individual fatty acid will have a larger surface-to-volume ratio resulting in a quicker and easier digestion process. Subsequently it is this easier digestion that causes those Lactose intolerant sufferers more often than not, to have no trouble digesting Goats Dairy, for comparatively there is only a 10% difference in Lactose content between the two. Goats milk also has the benefit of being naturally homogenized, and bypasses the invasive processing that takes place to prevent store bought cows milk from separating into perspective creamy and watery sections, as it would inevitably in shelf life. The breaking down of these healthy fats for commercial sake produces a potentially dangerous free radical superoxide known to cause DNA mutations and can lead to cancer.

Ancestral diets such as Paleo do not believe that our bodies have developed enough to digest milk, as it has only been introduced into the human diet over the past 1000 years. Based on this theory, Goats milk being more similar in makeup to human breast milk, is easier for our bodies to digest than Cow’s milk.
