{"id":1177,"date":"2013-08-11T16:40:22","date_gmt":"2013-08-11T16:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/?p=1177"},"modified":"2013-10-25T20:48:24","modified_gmt":"2013-10-25T20:48:24","slug":"savory-flaxseed-crackers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/?p=1177","title":{"rendered":"Savory Flaxseed Crackers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the future projects on the list for volunteers at the ranch is to design and build a solar dehydrator for drying herbs, seeds, and tasty snacks like these Savory Flaxseed Crackers. \u00a0In the meantime, we&#8217;re using an Excalibur electric dehydrator borrowed from Anamaya.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Rancho-Delicioso-036.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1170\" alt=\"Rancho Delicioso 036\" src=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Rancho-Delicioso-036-300x183.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\n2 cups whole raw flaxseed<br \/>\n3 cups water<br \/>\n1 cup tomatoes, seeded and chopped<br \/>\n2 mild chili peppers, seeded<br \/>\n1\/2 cup fresh basil<br \/>\n1 clove garlic<br \/>\n1 tsp Himalayan Sea salt<br \/>\n1 tsp ground Turmeric<br \/>\n1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Rancho-Delicioso-035.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1168\" alt=\"Rancho Delicioso 035\" src=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Rancho-Delicioso-035-168x300.jpg\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Instructions<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Soak the flaxseed in the water for 30 minutes.<br \/>\n2. While the flaxseed is soaking, place the tomatoes, peppers, basil, garlic, salt, and\u00a0turmeric in a food processor and puree. Transfer to a medium bowl.<br \/>\n3. When the flaxseed is ready, strain off the excess water then fold into the contents\u00a0of the bowl with the olive oil.<br \/>\n4. Pour half the mixture each onto 2 solid dehydrator sheets and spread out to desired\u00a0thickness.<br \/>\n5. Dehydrate at 115 F degrees.<br \/>\n6. After about 8 hours or when firm enough, lay a mesh sheet from the dehydrator on top\u00a0of the mixture, place a tray frame over that and flip the entire thing over. Now\u00a0remove the other frame and gently peel off the solid sheet.<br \/>\n8. Dehydrate for approx. 8 hours more or until all of the moisture has been absorbed.<br \/>\n9.
