<\/a><\/p>\nPurslane, known as verdulaga in spanish, is a weed and a superfood, and we found is growing here in a few spots.<\/p>\n
Known to have one of the highest levels of Omega-3 fatty acids in the plant kingdom, this superweed is a plant that humans can live on for many months in times of emergency.<\/p>\n
It grows in almost any soil, including sand, and can sometimes be found growing out of narrow cracks in concrete or other spits inhabitabe by most other plants.<\/p>\n
Propagating it is easy, just break a piece off and stick it in the ground. Save some seeds, however, because it will eventually die off.<\/p>\n
It can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach. We’ve been putting it in green drinks too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
