In a bowl, cover 1\/4 cup beans with 2+ inches of water and soak in refrigerator for about two days. Cover bowl with a plate so freaky refrigerator juices don&#8217;t leak in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Chicpeasprouts.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-741\" alt=\"Small glass bowl with about a dozen sprouted chickpeas\" src=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Chicpeasprouts-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Chicpeasprouts-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ranchodelicioso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Chicpeasprouts-650x432.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Day 3<\/strong>:<br \/>\nDrain beans and rinse.\u00a0 Return beans to jar and secure top with breathable fabric (toilet paper, cheese cloth, etc.) using rubber band.\u00a0 Set jar at a steep angle, top face down, so water slowly drains out.\u00a0Rinse in strainer or colander each morning and night, and repeat. Lots of sun and water. Pictured left: the babies<strong> <strong>(&#8220;Day 13&#8221;)<\/strong> <\/strong>in temporarily plastic bag-pots after about six days in soil.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 15: Transplant<\/strong><br \/>\nProvide about 1 foot diameter around each plant. Apologize to plants if\/when roots break off while transplanting.\u00a0Here they are after about two days in the ground (<strong>Day 17<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>(Image of garden coming soon &#8212; pictured right)<br \/>\nWe expect that each plant will grow to the size of a small bush.\u00a0 <strong>After 90-120 days<\/strong> they should be ready for harvest, which you can do by pulling out the entire plant letting is dry out itself, or harvest individual beans while roots are still intact.
