Welcome Rachel
Rachel is thrilled to participate in the exciting evolution of Rancho Delicioso as its first-ever volunteer! Since this past September, she has been pursuing her “growing” interest and concern for sustainable organic agriculture—volunteering on community-based farms in Israel and now Costa Rica! She worked for two years at the Maternity Care Coalition, a non-profit organization in Philadelphia dedicated to improving maternal and child health through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities. She has mentored and interned for several arts, reproductive justice, and youth-based nonprofits. She is a former Program Officer and current Partnership Committee member of the Spruce Foundation, a “Next-Gen” led philanthropy collective of emerging community leaders supporting high impact youth initiatives in the Philadelphia region. This summer she will begin a Masters in Social Work Program at Smith College in Northampton, MA. She has immensely enjoyed experimenting with farm-fresh ingredients as well as vegan and gluten-free dishes for this website’s recipe section. She hopes to someday combine her passions for arts, yoga, nutrition and gardening in a future therapy and wellness practice. Rachel was raised in Bryn Mawr, PA and holds a BA from The University of Chicago in Comparative Literature.
